Our few days in Chatham could not have gone better. Your staff there are fantastic to work with. They are enormously accommodating and kind. No one ever felt put out or inconvenienced. The rooms were a big hit, the food was amazing! I am hearing rave reviews from our visitors from all over the country. The next Board gathering is in Montreal and they are concerned about how they will out-do us!

I believe you could pick up the Retro Suites with all the staff inside and move it to Toronto, Vancouver, New York or Paris and be very competitive! You guys are great at what you do!

I wanted to drop you a line on behalf of Lucas and his family to tell you how amazing your staff are. On Friday, we had a surprise gathering a 35th anniversary after having dinner at the Chilled Cork.

We went in to RetroSuites previously and the staff gave us a tour so we knew what the room looked like and could plan the setup. We called and asked
questions (a few times). We went to Chilled Cork the day before and asked to have a certain table and that our server help us out with the surprise. The
front desk person also helped play along on the way up to the Suite. In every interaction with your staff they were helpful and friendly and most
importantly never made us feel like we were a burden on them. That’s hard to find these days!

The couple were surprised and I’m pretty sure they had a night they won’t forget for a long time. Sher told me at the end of the night that she felt
incredibly special.

So long story short, the ambiance of the Suite and the helpfulness of your staff helped us create a wonderful memory and I just want
to say a big thank you!!!

I hope you’ll pass this on to your staff so they’ll know their efforts are appreciated.

Retro Suites gives Chatham Kent a new fresh meaning. We only stary at Retro Suites while visiting the Chatham area. The rooms are exciting and fun and equipped with goodies that are above and beyond. Did I mention popcorn and bottled water? The staff are so helpful and extremely accommodating. If you ever have the opportunity to meet the owner and his daughter Jessica your trip will be complete. Warm, inviting and wonderful family. The Chilled Cork is attached to the hotel which is convenient in the cold winter months…hang up your coat and never a reason to leave. Our dining experience was top notch. This place is a true joy to visit. I give this place a 10!!!

We stayed in september with another couple and all of us agreed it is a great hotel ,love the whole decor and also the location. Iam now booking the golf package for family as a xmas present and will stay there in the future myself .PS I agree great staff.

We have been very impressed with the service we’ve gotten during our stay!
We were treated like guests in our own hometown.
The boys LOVED being able to go to the Chilled Cork/Spiro’s/William Street Café anytime they liked.
The wait staff at the Chilled Cork were wonderful and Monty developed an appreciation for rabbit (one of the menu staples) over the last few weeks.
And we ended up buying the same light fixture that you have hanging just outside the elevator on the third floor (Lighting and Accent Gallery here in town!).
We will be sad to go, as close as quarters were.
Although it has been difficult being out of our house while it is being renovated, staying at the Retro Suites made the inconvenience much MUCH more bearable.

I have been a guest and have used the Suites for my business for several years. I make regular trips to Chatham just for mini vacations to stay at the Suites. They feel like another city – New York or really classy Toronto or somewhere fabulous. If you don’t look out the windows you’d never, ever know you’re in Chatham. The quality of everything and the uniqueness of each room makes it in a class of its own. I am a huge advocate for the Suites and send friends there all the time who haven’t heard of it. My favourite rooms are Urban Studio, Midtown, King William and Santa Fe. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in Chatham!! Or if you live in Chatham – for a getaway without having to drive anywhere!

I was selfishly tempted to write a poor report on your hotel, only to scare people off, so the next time I want to reserve a room, I would be sure to get one. LOL
The Retro Suites is truely a breath of fresh air. I do a lot of business travel, and have always stayed in the typical large chain hotels throughout Ontario. When I found the Retro on their web site, I was pleasantly impressed and wanted to give it a try. I checked in for the 1st time on Jan 12, 2012, and didn’t want to check out. The owners have done a super job on creating a nostalgic “blast from the past”.
The Retro will now be my destination whenever I am traveling in western Ontario. The staff are top notch, friendly and helpful.
The food at the Chilled Cork is outstanding.
Thanks to your staff for a memorable stay, and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Dear Mayor Hope,

It is with much excitement and pleasure that I write to let you and your tourism team know just how much we enjoyed our getaway to your region this past holiday season.

I put together a little getaway late in November. The plan was to drive from our residence in Belle River to Chatham on Boxing Day, stay a couple nights at Retro Suites (upon recommendation from friends who has been there earlier this summer) in one of their themed rooms. Second day, take a VIA Rail train from Chatham to London – just for a day trip to the London City Market and Museum, dinner then back to Chatham by train. Stay a second night at Retro Suites and next day, visit area shops and sites.

We are so fired up at what we found. In such great proximity to Detroit (where I work) and for Windsorites alike – to be able to plan a little getaway to your region which is not too far of a drive. Upon arrival there is no parking fees. All coffee shops, restaurants and shops are all within walking distance.

Then we found Gentry Manor. What an Emporium and Spa with history galore. It is a gem of a place.  Almost forgot to mention the Birdie’s Nest.  Our hard-earned dollars were all well-spent.  We made a few memories in Chatham and I will recommend to all my friends, family and work colleagues that the destination is the coolest we have found in many years.
